Frequently Asked Questions
Soap Donation program
For every bar of soap that you buy, we donate an unscented bar to our health care heroes and first responders. The Bethlehem Soap Company was created as a business retooling effort in response to the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020. We produce high-quality handcrafted organic soaps for healthcare workers, small businesses and those in need in our community. It became apparent early on in the pandemic that soap would soon be in high demand. First, we saw the toilet paper fly off the shelves and then the hand sanitizer. We knew there would be an increased demand and need for soap soon enough. We thought we may as well fill the need. The opportunity to make a difference and create something new is what we needed. We wanted to feel like we would be doing our part in a town we live in and love. Helping our community has always been paramount.
What ingredients do you put in your soap?
How should I store my soap?
Is your brand eco-friendly?
We make every effort to be as sustainable and eco-friendly as possible in every step of our soap-making process. Each bar of soap is wrapped in handmade cotton fiber paper. The colorful papers are made from the production waste of the cotton t-shirt industry. The waste is ground into a pulp, converted to a fine quality paper and screen printed with vegetable-based dyes. The waste from the cotton t-shirt industry comes from virgin cotton cloth and not dirty fibers. When necessary, we will wrap bulk soap orders with a biodegradable corn-based shrinkwrap material instead of plastic.
Do you use phthalate-free fragrances?
No, we do not use any fragrances or fragrance blends. We take our motto – 100% natural, 100% of the time – very seriously and only use the highest quality essential oils in our products.
